Lesson Idea: Learning Math and having fun with Bingo Cards

The classic bingo game we all know can be used in teaching, especially in Math, in a variety of ways. My recent lesson in Math is on Addition Facts and we played a Bingo game to let my pupils practice adding while having fun!

What you need: Printed bingo sheets, one for each pupil (just make sure that each card will contain different set of numbers),

Addition Facts flashcard

Procedure: Simply raise an addition fact card and ask the pupils to solve the addition sentence. Have them look for the sum in their bingo cards. If they see the sum on the card, the pupil will cross it out. Show more addition sentences. The first pupil who  gets to cross out all the numbers on the card shouts “Bingo!” and wins the game.

Bingo Cards can also be used to teach counting, reading and identifying numbers, among others.

Happy Teaching! ?

P.S. I’ll be updating this post once I discover more games and activities that can be used with this material.
